We got to see my mom today.

My mom's face and neck is still swollen. And she is still experiencing pain. But she was been able to sit, walk and, as of today, eat solid food. She has a great nurse who is gentle and attentive. She comes in every 15 minutes and uses a doppler machine to listen to the blood flow in my mom's cheek and neck. No word yet on when she gets to go home.

Mom was pretty talkative today. But once they gave her some fresh medicine she started getting drowsy pretty quickly. She started spacing out between sentences. So we took that as our cue to leave. My dad was planning on staying the whole day.

In Buffalo news, Cristina took her to get blood work done on her yesterday. We are waiting to hear the results to find out her progress. At this point, per doctor's instructions, we stopped trying to forced her to take her meds and have been focusing on getting her to eat. She has been eating veggies well for a week now. And over the last few days she has been eating hay and pellets as well. The goal is to get her on that diet almost exclusively.

We'll keep you posted on both fronts as new develops...
