There's two reasons, really. First of all, I just got back from my parents house and celebrating my future sister-in-law's birthday, which brings up an important point (about which I've been meaning to write)... my brother's engaged! When did it happen? I believe it was beginning of August. Where? At the the Castaway Restaurant overlooking the valley. To whom? The lovely Michelle Pina, whose birthday we were celebrating.
I was not able to be there the entire time. I was playing bass at our church's evening service (as I do every Sunday). We rehearse from 4:30 to about 5:45. Then service starts at 6. Tonight we were rocking! It was really fun. The songs were mostly familiar, so it gave me the chance to experiment within the songs and come up with unique grooves. Our set list was "Everlasting God," "God of Wonders," "Hungry," and "Unchanging," pretty standard modern rock worship tunes. As soon as we were done with the worship set I put my bass away and took off (since Cristina and I had already attended Traditional Service in the morning).
When I got to my parents' house I saw a whole room of people I hadn't met before... Michelle's family. They, along with my family, were watching Michelle open her gifts. As they were doing that Cristina warmed me up some food. My mom had made delicious beef and pork. And earlier, Cristina and I had picked up rice and beans from Ranch Market. I had a little bit of everything. I met Michelle's family. I waited. Then I had a piece of cake. After most everyone had gone home I decided I wanted to make another burrito. They I have a big glass of tea.
Once we came home, we found Buffalo in the dark (we had not thought to leave the light on for her in the morning) and looking a little neglected. So I took her out of her room so she could roam around the bedroom. Only thing is she is shedding right now. So, as I was handling her, I must have inhaled one of her hairs and got it stuck in my throat. I was trying to work it out or swallow it--one of the two. But after a few minutes my body decided the best way to get rid of that hair would be to send all the food I ate back up and flush it out. So I ended up kneeling beside the toilet puking half my dinner up.
I am not sick. I don't feel sick. Although, if I don't get to bed I may get sick from lack of sleep and weaked immune system. But I just felt like blogging. And, apparently, the best thing I can think of sharing right now is the fact that I just puked. But here's a quick version of a few things I've been wanting to write about latel:
- Cristina and I just started a Bible study in our home for twenty-somethings.
- I disagree with the arguments I've been hearing on both sides of the Prop 8 debate, in that none of the "reasons" either side gives are valid or reasonably persusive.
- Heroes is getting crazy!
This week will be rather eventful. We have something going on just about every day and night. Hopefully, I will get the chance to write about it later. For now I better rest up so I can handle it.
Blessings!
