The all new ShawnAndCristina.com

Today was my mom’s parents’ 60th wedding anniversary! And it is 10 days away from Cristina and I’s one-year anniversary. When we make it to our 60th I will be 92-years-old; Cristina will be 88.

I’m not writing to report on how our marriage has been. I’ll save that for another time.

I am writing because I have not ACTUALLY written any entries FOR ShawnAndCristina.com since before the wedding. In fact, all the stuff archived here from September 2007 through July 2008 I originally wrote on either my own personal blogs or our young adult ministry’s blog.

But that’s just it. We’re married now. We’re a team. So to commemorate our anniversary, I have decided to retire my old website and blog and join forces online as in life.

So I guess I’m writing to announce that Cristina and I will now both be sharing our lives here, including thoughts, pictures, videos and more. That being so, here’s our current news in a nutshell in no particular order…

- We just moved a month ago and are almost unpacked and settled in.
- Cristina recently bought a fun cake decorating book and has made an elephant-shaped cake for our friend Ellie’s birthday and will be making a beach ball cake for The Journey’s pot luck pool party on Saturday.
- We just this afternoon decided what we wanted to do on our trip to Washington later this month.
- I have to pay my last semester’s tuition before we go on our trip.
- We have spent $3,000 on my car this month.
- We’ll likely have to spend about $300 on Cristina’s car next month.
- We have been putting away about $600 toward savings, investments and future purchases.
- We’re thinking of getting a new car in the not too distant future.
- I have lost 22 pounds this year so far.
- Cristina got a call from Billy Blanks (of TaeBo fame) at work this week.
- I am writing this on my laptop in bed as Cristina is sleeping.
