Where's the wedding going to be?

In the process of looking for a reception site we found a ceremony site as well. Cristina and I both liked The Mitten Building in Redlands. We were originally hoping to have the wedding on Saturday, but the day was booked, so we opted for Friday. This turned out to be a good thing since the price for a Friday event starts at $2,000 less, although we regret any hassles a weekday wedding may cause our guests!

The place, nestled in a nook of Downtown Redlands, and just over a mile from our apartment, is a beautiful historic site built in 1890 to be an orange packing house. Its exposed rafters and ductwork, along with its natural wood motif, give it a classic rustic feel that is at once down-home and exquisite. And its two levels allow the delightful versatility of having both ceremony and reception set up under the same roof.

It was my aunt who first tipped us off to the place. Then, while talking with our photographer at a bridal show in Ontario, he named the Mitten as one of the great reception sites of Redlands. We have since heard good things from a handful of people who have attended or held weddings there. Not to mention, we have had a good rapport with the staff there from the start; they are very helpful. So, in addition to the great location, we have decided to make use of their catering and floral services.

When all is said and done we hope our wedding will be marked by beauty and hospitality.

Looking forward to it!
