I have had the first half of these lyrics written for many years and just this month wrote the second half. Upon completing the song, I had hoped to record it before Christmas and post it online. However, I also thought I might as well record five Christmas/Winter songs whilst I'm at it. Turns out I started with a version of "Joy to the World" I originally had an idea for in high school oh so many years ago. It's been fun but slow-going and I'm not even done with that one yet. So maybe I'll have a more definitve musical offering by NEXT Christmas. Until then, here are the lyrics to my first Christmas worship song, "Immanuel." (Note: "Immanuel" means "God with us.")

See the Baby there in a manger
The Savior Who's come down to earth
Wrapped in rags and open to danger
Still He chose a human birth
All-consuming Fire
Joy of our desire
Come let us worship and bow down
Kiss His cheek, see His crown
This Baby is Immanuel
See His mother there as she ponders
Son of God in her loving hands
Ordinary yet so highly favored
She yielded to God's holy plan
Like her we find grace
When we seek His face
Come let us worship and bow down
Kiss His cheek, see His crown
This Baby is Immanuel
From His mother's womb
To the empty tomb
Come let us worship and bow down
Kiss His cheek, see His crown
This Baby is Immanuel
After His Heart
